Carambole Advent Calendar is back!
Dear Carambole friends,
Last year we missed the Advent Calendar, and I know many of you were waiting for its return. Well… here I am, with a new one!
And this time, it’s more than a limited edition — it’s a rather crazy little project, and there is a reason why.
What’s new, you ask?
Last year, I hosted several tea & chocolate pairing sessions together with Sergey from Moy Chay. They were full of discoveries and surprises. So I kept thinking: how can I bring this experience to people who can’t join us in person?
I spent the next year tasting, testing, collecting and putting together 24 tea & chocolate pairings for this calendar.
Getting them all from around the world was not an easy task, but sometimes magic just needs time!
Alongside the craft chocolate and Carambole bonbons, every day in your box brings a new loose-leaf tea to discover.
This calendar is an invitation to discover the world of exceptional loose-leaf tea in all its diverse forms — red tea, oolong, pu-erh, green tea, herbal infusions and more — alongside extraordinary craft chocolate from different makers and Carambole bonbons.
So you get to explore two worlds at once and discover what happens when they meet — sometimes side by side, sometimes transformed into one creation.
Some windows contain a true pairing of two separate products. Others explore tea in a different form: integrated into chocolate, incorporated into a ganache, or transformed into part of a bonbon. The idea is to approach the pairing almost as a form of creative engineering — exploring how two products can interact, and in how many different forms they can be brought together.
There were no rigid rules for me when creating these pairings. It was an individual process of exploration and research, looking not simply for balance, but for a marriage of flavours — something closer to poetry or chemistry, created through the combination of two products with their own textures, temperatures, aromas and personalities.
A little paper theatre — like back in the days.
And Carambole wouldn’t be true to its DNA without a playful part to the Advent. This year, we decided to look at the game element from a different angle: we made a little paper theatre with a Christmas plot.
Every day, a new character appears together with a new tea & chocolate pairing. You can follow the story, change the roles, move the characters around, invent new scenes — or completely make up your own.
And perhaps this is exactly what I love about the Advent Calendar: it is not only something to taste. It is something to discover, play with and make your own.
