Hi, My name is Rita, the founder and creator of Carambole Chocolate and I am an artist. I was born in Moscow, moving to Berlin in my twenties. Before I found craft chocolate, I worked in the theater and fine arts for almost 20 years, but I always adored nature and fine food. I once had a thought – Is there really much difference between making chocolates and painting? Or sculpting? So I became a chocolatier.
I opened my own atelier called Carambole in 2017 and participated in chocolate festivals, art and design exhibitions with my creations. In 2020-2023 I won multiple Gold awards from the Academy of Chocolate in London, including the Golden Bonbon - the Oscar of the chocolate world.

Carambole Chocolate’s mission is to educate people about what they’re truly paying for when they choose craft chocolate versus supermarket chocolate. By explaining the real reasons behind craft chocolate’s higher price—quality, values, and how it’s made—I'm slowly swaying people towards "the good side", as the traditional chocolate industry has historically had many controversial issues related to human rights.
Carambole was honoured to have received multiple Gold awards from the Academy of Chocolate in 2020, 2021 and 2023. 2021 was the biggest joyful moment because I was awarded with the Golden BonBon, not-so-humbly called the Oscar of the chocolate world. It is an award that is given out (if the Academy decides to award it at all) to only one chocolatier in the whole year. My bonbon called Dze Georgien has received this high acclaim. It got the top prize, outshining even the restaurant boasting multiple Michelin stars, I am very proud of this fact!
Yes, absolutely!
Using only bean-to-bar chocolate from different producers around the globe is not only my unique artistic concept, but is due to my respect for the environment and the people working in chocolate. This is also ingrained in our packaging — no plastic allowed.
Craft chocolate industry stands for direct trade, supply chain transparency, good income for the farmers and respect for nature.
⚫️ Carambole is a challenging billiards game that requires elegance, skill and intricacy, involving a trick shot with multiple pockets. This is us! It's all about the elegance and layered meanings, stories, and flavours.
⚪️ Carambolage is a French term for a pile-up of cars, a collision-like a jolt into another reality. We are here to break stereotypes and offer a new perspective!
🔴 Carambole is also the red billiard ball and a clown's red nose. Theatre is in our nature - bold and with a touch of humour!
🟢 Additionally, Carambole is a fruit that, when sliced, resembles a star, although this is the least relevant aspect for our brand 😎
